Good Vs Needs Improvement - Noticeboards

Noticeboards are an important communication tool sites can utilise to educate and inform operatives on various topics including safety and quality and recent construction news. A large, bright and well-constructed noticeboard can serve as a useful and constant visual reminder to operatives on subjects relevant to ongoing works.

Noticeboards should be displayed in an accessible location, where operatives will be able to easily see the information displayed and built to withstand all types of weather.

Topics that can be displayed on noticeboards as an example are:

  • Recent H&S Toolbox Talks and Safety Bulletins

  • 7 Habits posters

  • Traffic Management / Dust / Water Management Plans

  • NHBC standards

  • First aiders

  • Celebrations and achievements i.e. long service milestones, contractor of the month etc.

The H&S Department has noted some very good examples of noticeboards on display across sites, which can be seen below.

Please see below some examples of noticeboards which require improvement:

There is no right or wrong way to display information and sites are encouraged to be creative and to have fun with noticeboards and with what they want to display. However, they are a direct reflection on the site's H&S culture and represent Coinford and therefore it is important they are kept in good order and updated on a regular basis.

Any questions or queries then please ask a member of the H&S Department.
