Unlike most other hazards on site which can be seen, felt or heard, there is no advance warning of danger from electricity - and it can kill.
It must be clearly understood that the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical services, and equipment must only be done by a competent qualified electricians.
Power Tools
Do not bring ‘foreign’ tools or extension leads onto the site.
All tools on site must be 110v.
Before using a power tool, check for defective cables, plugs and sockets or any other damage.
When using a power tool, disconnect it from the supply before making adjustments and when it is not in use.
Fuses must not be ‘up-rated’.
Power tools must not be plugged into lighting circuits.
The tool must not be carried, lifted or lowered by its cable.
Stay out of the wet when using an electric tool.
Ensure the tool PAT test has been completed within the last 3 months.
Never use defective tools or equipment - report them at once.
