No. 20 - Temporary Roadworks
High visibility clothing (Class 3) must be worn by everyone working on the highway.
The work area must be clearly defined with chapter 8 barriers and/or cones, and the appropriate warning signs before work is commenced.
The TMP layout design will be followed and adhered to.
Barriers and/or cones and signs must be maintained in position with signs being cleaned as necessary.
Always stay within the area defined by the barriers and/or cones and signs.
Barriers and/or cones may have to be moved as work progresses - ensure they are correctly positioned before re-commencing work.
Do not move barriers and/or cones and signs unless specifically authorised to do so by your supervisor.
When a buffer zone is provided, it must be kept free of plant, materials, vehicles and pedestrians.
Always be wary of moving traffic.
Do not obstruct pedestrians and keep foot-ways clear. Ensure pedestrians can pass the works safely.
Report any defect in the equipment or the system of work without delay.
